I had heard a lot about Sonar Bangla so I decided to give it a shot today. I was in no mood to visit the restaurant so I ordered for home delivery.

 

The food arrived in an hour and 15 minutes which was rather disappointing because I was dying of hunger. The food was properly packaged and the service was polite and courteous.

 

My starter consisted of "Prawn Cutlets" which were not as hot as one would have hoped them to be. The cutlets were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside but they tasted quite average.

 

The "Kacha Lanka Murgi" was extremely oily and tasted like home made chicken. It was good but I've had better. I have to take a moment to highlight how fresh the chicken was though. The chicken went beautifully with "Tawa Rotis" and completed my simple albeit slightly oily meal.

 

The dessert, my favourite part was the biggest disappointment. I just did not like the "Misti Doi". I was really missing the Mother Dairy Misti Doi as I consumed the excessively sweet and runny "Misti Doi" from Sonar Bangla.

 

Overall, I would only rate Sonar Bangla 3/5. Order only if you are looking for a substitute to a simple home cooked meal.
